PERIOD OF GUSTY WEST WINDS TO THE WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE MOJAVE
DESERT SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM TO 11 PM PDT SATURDAY...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAS VEGAS HAS ISSUED A WIND
ADVISORY FOR THE WESTERN MOJAVE DESERT...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM
2 PM TO 11 PM PDT SATURDAY.
* WINDS: WEST 25 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 45 MPH. SOME
DECREASE IN WIND IS EXPECTED BY LATE EVENING BUT WINDY
CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE OVERNIGHT.
* TIMING: SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING.
* LOCATIONS: BARSTOW...DAGGETT...FORT IRWIN.
* IMPACTS: DIFFICULT DRIVING CONDITIONS ALONG AREA ROADWAYS
INCLUDING HIGHWAY 395 AND INTERSTATES 15 AND 40. STRONGER GUSTS
COULD RAISE DESERT SAND AND DUST...LEADING TO PERIODS OF REDUCED
VISIBILITY.

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT CROSSWINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE STRONG
ENOUGH TO MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE
VEHICLES. IN ADDITION...STRONG WINDS OVER DESERT AREAS COULD RESULT
IN BRIEFLY LOWERED VISIBILITIES TO WELL UNDER A MILE AT TIMES IN
BLOWING DUST OR BLOWING SAND. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
